Skate 2 - How the hell does anyone enjoy this game?

I loved both but I think the point is that if you skated in real life it helps.

I skated since I was 6 or 7 and this game lets me do stuff that I won't try in a million years now.

The game is one of the most frustrating but also most rewarding games around.

yeah I admit, learning to do a nollie 180 heelflip and not a nollie 360 heelflip can be tricky - and may have taken me over a month to get right... but I know that when I play a game of skate against someone, there's a good chance I'll win because I took the time to get it right ... however - I've got friends who've had skate 1 for more than a year and still can't play it - and I've almost got 1500 GS from it (the one achievement gets glitched by DLC and then you have to uninstall and reinstall to get it and I can't be bothered.)

Thats just like me. I normally get better with games when I put in the effort. But as much as I adore this game and the feeling that it gives you when you string together some stuff, I just cannot get somethings down and therefore I am inconsistent with it. That one 'gap in the pool' level drove me to the point of loosing it all together, and led to me selling it.

I wouldn't agree with that. That's where the precision comes in. If you've practiced enough, that will never be an issue. I can do regular, switch, nollie, and fakie 360 flips 10/10, because of practice

Ye you probably right. Im not the most precise person in the world and therefore struggle. I was just hoping it wasn't just me

Okay so I spent some more time with it tonight.

A little less frustrating today, but I'm still struggling to figure out how the hell to keep combos going, and thus I either can't do the competition things at all, or just barely finish them.

The game could really do with a proper tutorial for what the hell's going on, something that it seems was in Skate 1, and just left out for the sequel.

I started playing Skate 2 for the first time today and will admit that some of the tricks can be a bit hard to master, especially since I have only ever played Tony Hawks but this game just seems so much more realistic than TH, it was always a bit strange to see that you could grind around the edges of pools forever as long as your balance was right.
