Thanks... The US amazon siad they wont ship here. And the UK one is way to expensive!

Ebay have some nice deals but waiting for a reply from Hauppauge themselves to see what shipping costs are.

    Thanks

i know hava still records in SD but you can play in HD? is that correct?

im looking to spend around R1500......u say u can get off amazon UK, they will not ship to my address in SA?.....

im tired of playing in SD....just not worth the hassle....

The Blackmagic Intensity Pro internal PC card is better than anything I mentioned. It has HDMI in/out and records in 1080p. It's quality is amazing.

As far as I understand, you can play using the Hava on 720p using component cables not HDMI.

If I had to choose I would definitely get the Blackmagic Intensity Pro, I just don't have a desktop PC close enough to my XBox.

problem is i dont have a desktop pc but just a laptop?

i think im goin gto have to go with the HAVA...as i not yet found a decent price on the Blackmagic....

and also wouldnt the blackmagic use moerse HD space, recording using HDMI would use heavy disk space, and not sure if my laptop would handle trying to work with files so huge?

Well the blackmagic is an Internal PCI expansion card which means you need a desktop to run it!

Actually, Blackmagic have an external unit now. It looks rad. You will need USB3 though.

Oh, didn't realize they brought out another model :P Does it do the processing or is it like the Pro where your PC does all the work?

It does the processing, like a Hauppauge HDPVR.

Basically, it's the Hauppauge with HDMI. 1080p is irrelevant for XBox, in essence, but HDMI definitely looks better than Component on my TV.

That's hot! Kinda wish I didn't rush out and buy the Hauppauge. On an entirely unrelated subject, I've got a second hand Hauppauge HD PVR for sale

Remember you need a USB 3.0 port.
