Can I download DLC content and update Xbox games etc etc with an Arcade?
Hello
Hifi Corp has a special atm. Arcade console + Banjo Kazooie for R1999. Don't know whether or not it has HDMI cables/compatibility or whatever, will call later.
However I want to know whether or not I will be able to buy a hard drive for it later on and whether or not I will be able to download DLC and update my games with such a small memory card? Or does it not have an impact?
Furthermore, does the arcade bundle include Silver membership?

You can buy a hard drive at a later stage.. The console is most likely a Jasper so will have some onboard memory, 256mb or 512mb which you give enough space for updates and saves although its probably not enough for DLC.
You will get a 1 month Gold membership when you sign up.. after which you will have to buy gold or it will revert to silver

The console will have the HDMI port. You will be able to connect to Xbox live using the memory card and update games etc. You will be able to download DLC to an extent, but this will be limited due to the space of the memory card which is 256mb.
You can buy a hard drive at any time and attach it to the arcade which will then allow you to download much more.
The Xbox doesn't ship with Xbox Live enabled. Once you have created a profile on your console you can sign up on the console. You will receive a 1 month Gold membership free after which it will revert to Silver, which is free forever.Last edited by .47.; 02-09-2010 at 07:16 AM.

You're asking the wrong people...
All of us are guaranteed to give you a BIG thumbs up...
What I would suggest is checking out a special I know they had at Incredible a week or so ago, where you could trade in any old console and buy an Elite (Black with 120GB HDD) for not much more... Jonni started a thread on it somewhere....
But yeah, getting the box is well worth it, and before you sign up to LIVE, make sure you read up about suggestions other members have made (Like using a prepaid card because Credit Cards cause hassles down the line...)
Welcome dude, and enjoy... hope we see you online soon.
PS: When getting started and looking for new games, check out the trade section for some awesome trades... Our members look after each other pretty damn well...

The IC trade in specials end today so you'll have to act quickly to get in on that..
