Just make sure it's the BEVS. BEVT does NOT work.

Edit: I see you are in the Menlyn area. You could go to Defcon 5 in Lynnwood road, they're in the Varsity Bakery Complex, the guy there does the HDD mod and might have the required drives in stock.

You're still going to need a transfer kit/memory card unless you get one of those third party hard drive things

On a side note, What exactly does this hdd security sector contain? Are all 120gb sectors identical or are they unique in some way?

There is already a thread for this, check it out, cause most of these issues have been discussed: HDD MODS: Make your own 120gb HDD for cheap cheap

AFAIK No one has been banned for this mod and it is entirely possible. I have not done it myself as I have an elite, but a few forum members have. i might still try it on an xbox I fixed.

Okay my big question is, will the 120Gb transfer kit work if I plonk a 160Gb drive in the thing?

Or does it simply format a 160Gb as a 120gb?

---------- Post added at 02:55 PM ---------- Previous post was at 02:25 PM ----------

Xbox Scene answered my question, only supports the highest OEM drive currently available which is 120Gb for now.

So ultimately a 160Gb will work, but show up as 120Gb.

Give it a few months and you can have a 250Gb, more than enough space for the average South African user

aww that sucks, but 120Gb is still big enough I guess, for most peoples needs anyway, but I guess some people are content freaks and may even fill up a 120Gb drive in no time.

if anyone wants to buy the casing for the hdd you can buy it here: Buy Hard Drive Case of Xbox 1 & 360 at Superufo.com, one of the biggest wholesaler / distributor of Video Game in Asia.

    its not genuine though.
